Many of them aren't better if taking price into consideration. MB have always had average reliability in contrast to how much they cost. I was reading consumer reports today & I was surprised how many American cars did make their recommended lists. The Malibu, Lacrosse, full sized trucks, as examples. Any car can be reliable if you take care of it. I drove a Dodge truck w/ the mighty Cummins diesel for years & it wouldn't break. It never went to the dealer for repairs, only for preventive maintenance. The Japanese like to embrace their cars by perfecting what technology exists.
