The United Nations Organization (UNO) or simply United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and the achieving of world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries, and to provide a platform for dialogue. It contains multiple subsidiary organizations to carry out its missions.

There are currently 192 member states, including nearly every sovereign state in the world. From its offices around the world, the UN and its specialized agencies decide on substantive and administrative issues in regular meetings held throughout the year. The organization is divided into administrative bodies, primarily: the General Assembly (the main deliberative assembly); the Security Council (for deciding certain resolutions for peace and security); the Economic and Social Council (for assisting in promoting international economic and social cooperation and development); the Secretariat (for providing studies, information, and facilities needed by the UN); the International Court of Justice (the primary judicial organ). Additional bodies deal with the governance of all other UN System agencies, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The UN's most visible public figure is the Secretary-General, currently Ban Ki-moon of South Korea, who attained the post in 2007. The organization is financed from assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states, and has six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

How did the United States become part of the United Nations?
Q. Did the president sign and the Senate support it with a two-thirds vote? I would really like some references. I've searched the web and can't find a site that explains how the United States joined the United Nations. I'm wondering if it's true that the United Nations charter overrides the Constitution.

A. A Canadian proposed U.N. Peace Keepers. The U.S. while a member of The U.N. is a contributing member and not under control of The U.N. The U.N. could with approval of The rest of it move against any nation guilty of Crimes Of Agression or Genocide. It could move against even The U.S. if there were enough evidence. The U.S. joined The U.N. Both U.S.Constitution and U.N. Charter would be put to use as genocide would go against both as would tearing up The Constitution. 1948 or 1956 U.N. signs document genocide crime against humanity. Nations meet and join U.N. declare responsibility to prevent genocide. WW2 in mind and Nazis.

I would like to work as an interpreter/translator for the United Nations. Where should I start?
Q. I have a bachelor degree in International Relations studies. I love learning foreign languages. I have been doing translation/interpretatio n from Indonesian (my mother tongue) to English. I also have experiences as rapporteur in seminars/workshops as well. I have never attended a formal interpretation training school, however. Can anybody suggest me where to start if I would like to have a career in translation/interpretatio n, or document checking in international organizations, or maybe in United Nations itself? Thank you.

A. They don't do much, they talk to the leader regarding the matter. And they most likely believe him if he says it's not happening. If it is a well known fact that it is happening, the leader will say it's a small faction/tribe that is causing the trouble, even though it is known that most leaders supported these factions/tribes to do it.
